Private Relationship Management

The one thing you never delegated.

For a small number of exceptional people, we manage the private relationship life — understanding it, finding it, forming it, and keeping it well over years.

By application only. Membership is not offered publicly.

I — Position

You retain people for your capital, your health, your affairs. For this, you have had nobody.

The market offered our members two things: an introduction service that stops at the first dinner, and a therapist who begins once something has gone wrong. Between them lies the work that actually decides the outcome — and nobody was doing it.

Legend is a private practice for that work. We establish what a partnership must be for a particular life, find it where it exists, help it establish properly, and stay with it through the years and the decisions that follow.

II — Standards

Everything we do is a decision about what we will not do.

  • Not an introduction service.A practice.
  • Not more matches.Better judgment.
  • Not an algorithm alone.People who answer for it.
  • Not public.Private.
  • Not mass market.Selective.
  • Not a transaction.A retainer.

III — The practice

Five areas. One advisor.

Retained singly, or held together as a mandate over years. An introduction is one of the five, and it is rarely the part that decides the outcome — three of the five concern a relationship you are already in.

I

Assessment

Establishing what a partnership must be for this particular life — before a single name is considered.

II

Search & Introduction

Finding the person, verifying them in person, and bringing two people together with reasons on the table.

III

Formation

The first year: the conversations most couples postpone, and the practical merging of two established lives.

IV

Counsel

Working on a relationship while you are inside it: the difficulty that has stopped resolving itself, and what a good one needs to stay durable.

V

Continuity

A standing retainer with an advisor who holds the whole history — through the years and the harder decisions.

You do not have to be unattached to be a client. Members arrive alone, already in a relationship, or at a threshold.

The network — closed, verified, unpublished

IV — The Private Network

A network you cannot browse.

Membership is not a listing. Our network is a closed circle of individuals introduced through our advisors, referral, and private search — each personally met and verified before they are ever considered for anyone.

When the right person is not already known to us, we do not compromise. We look for them.

V — Built for this

Five things a house could not do on paper.

We built our own systems because none of what follows could be bought, and because a practice this private cannot put its members' lives inside somebody else's product. None of it decides anything. All of it is answerable to a person whose name is on the recommendation.

01

A persona, built from conversation

Not a questionnaire. You talk, and what emerges is a working model of how you actually are — the things people describe badly on a form. Your advisor works from it, and you can tell it when it is wrong about you.

02

A first conversation neither of you has to have

With consent on both sides, your persona and a candidate's hold a structured exchange before anyone gives up an evening. It surfaces the divergence that would otherwise appear on the third meeting. It never decides — it hands both advisors a transcript and an argument.

03

A verification mark you can carry anywhere

A code that anyone can check against this house — on a profile, in a signature, wherever you deal with people who do not yet know you. It confirms identity and nothing else. Legend Identity is a separate service, open to anyone: most people who hold a mark are not clients of this practice, and holding one says nothing about whether you are.

04

A ledger of every disclosure

Each time we are asked whether something about you may be said, the request, your answer and the refusals are written down — permanently, and where you can read them. Most houses promise discretion. This is the version you can audit.

05

One private place for the whole engagement

Every written case, your correspondence with your advisor, your papers and your standing — held where nothing needs to travel by email. Access is issued by your advisor personally.

What none of it does: choose for you, rank anyone, or act unseen. Every candidate that reaches you was read, argued and put to you by an advisor who met them.

VI — Discretion

Discretion is not a feature. It is a standard.

No public profiles. No member directory. No browsing. Nothing about you is shared with anyone without your consent, each time.

Consent before disclosure Named advisor only No public presence Discreet onboarding

VII — Mandates

Three levels of engagement.

Every engagement begins the same way — with a conversation. What differs is how many of the five areas we hold, how far the search reaches, and for how long we remain.

Engagements are agreed privately and in full before any work begins. Figures indicate the level at which each engagement commences.

VIII — Member access

Where your file actually lives.

Your private profile — the portrait your advisor works from — is held inside the client portal and nowhere else. There, and only there, you read the case for an introduction, follow the engagement, and speak to the advisor handling it.

Access is issued personally by your advisor when an engagement commences, and renewed by them. There is no public registration, and no account can be created from this page.

i

Private profile

Your circumstances, intentions and standards, as your advisor has recorded them. Amended only through a conversation, so the reasoning is kept beside the change.

ii

Introductions

Each written case, with the reasoning behind it and what remains withheld — presented for your decision, never for browsing.

iii

Correspondence & documents

Your thread with your advisor, appointments, engagement papers and the record of every introduction — held here and released to you alone.

IX — The Journal

Considered writing on partnership, privacy and the way demanding lives are actually lived.

By application

Begin with a private conversation.

A member of the advisory team will respond personally, usually within two working days.

Correspondents

We do not hold every city.

A house that stays small cannot cover every market properly, and pretending otherwise would be the first dishonest thing we did. So in the cities where we do not have an advisor of our own, we work with a small number of people who do — houses, counsel and hosts who hold their own networks and their own standards.

If you run one of those, this page is addressed to you rather than to our members.

For family offices, private banks and lawyers whose clients raise this with them, the arrangement is different and set out separately — for professional advisors.

i

Relationship houses elsewhere

Independent matchmakers and advisory practices in markets we do not cover. Where a member's search reaches your city, we would rather work with someone who knows it than pretend we do.

ii

Relationship counsel

Therapists, mediators and family practitioners. We are not clinicians and say so; when that is the right answer we need someone qualified to send a member to, and we would like to know you before we do.

iii

Hosts and private venues

Those who run gatherings where discretion is already the standard — private rooms, clubs, collections, houses. We host a small number each season and are always short of the right rooms.

iv

Verification and security

Firms who establish that someone is who they say they are, and advise members whose visibility makes an ordinary evening complicated.

The terms, before you write

  • No fee is paid or accepted for introducing a person. Not to us, not by us. A commission would make someone a commodity, and we will not have that in the arrangement.
  • Nothing about a member reaches you without their consent, given for that occasion. The same is expected of you.
  • We do not name our correspondents publicly, and we ask that you do not name us.
  • No exclusivity, in either direction. You keep your practice and we keep ours.
  • We begin with a conversation, not a contract — and often it ends there, amicably.

Please do not send us any client's name or details. We will not read them, and it would tell us the wrong thing about how you work.

Read by a principal. We reply to every letter, including the ones we decline.

Received

Thank you. A principal will write to you.

Usually within two working days. If we do not think there is an arrangement here, we will say so plainly rather than leave you waiting — and we will tell you why.

Nothing you have sent is added to a mailing list, and we will not contact you again about anything else.
