The seal alone proves nothing — an image can be copied by anyone. Only the code, checked here, means anything.

Read this before you rely on it

It tells you who someone is. Not what they are like.

A verified person can still be poor company, or worse. This mark removes one category of risk — that you are talking to someone who does not exist, or who is not who they say. It does not remove the others, and we will not let it be sold as though it does.

What it does mean is on the record above, in the words we actually stand behind: that a person of this name sat in front of one of our advisors, produced documents, and was who they claimed to be on a stated date.

How the mark works

Verified in person, once

An advisor meets the person and sees an original identity document. Nothing is verified remotely, nothing from a copy, and nothing on a colleague's word. The document is handed straight back — we do not photograph or keep it.

A code, issued to them

Twelve characters, not derived from anything about them and not guessable from another code. They choose where to place it — a profile, a signature, a website — and each placement carries its own code so one can be withdrawn without the others.

They decide what it shows

The date of verification always. A first name and a city only if they have chosen to reveal them. Never a photograph, never a surname, never anything about why they came to us.

You check it here, not there

The seal on a profile is a picture, and pictures can be copied. The answer comes from this page or it is worth nothing. If someone shows you a seal and no code, they are showing you an image.

Withdrawable, instantly

By the person at any moment, and by the house where a mark is misused. A withdrawn code does not go quiet — it says so.

There is no list to browse. You cannot search this page by name, and codes cannot be enumerated. If you do not have the code, there is nothing here for you — which is the point.

A mark is a service in its own right.

Legend Identity

Legend Identity is a separate service, open to anyone. Holding a mark does not make you a client of anything else this house does, and most holders are not.
