The Private Network

A network you cannot browse.

There is no directory, no gallery and no search bar. Our network exists only in the judgment of the advisors who built it.

What it is

Not a database of people. A circle of individuals we have actually met.

Anyone can accumulate names. What is difficult — and what takes years — is knowing people well enough to say, with reasons, that two of them should meet.

Our network grows slowly and deliberately. Members enter it through advisory introduction, through referral from someone already known to us, or because we sought them out for a specific mandate. No one is admitted by signing up.

Three ways in

01

Application

A private application, followed by consultation. A minority proceed; we say so plainly when we do not believe we can serve someone well.

02

Referral

Introduced by a member, an advisor, or a professional whose judgment we know — a family office, a private bank, a trusted friend of the house.

03

Dedicated search

Approached by us, discreetly, because a member has a specific requirement and we believe this person may meet it. Nothing is disclosed at first contact.

Verification

Met, understood, confirmed.

Before anyone is considered for a member, an advisor has met them, understood their circumstances, and confirmed that what they have told us is accurate. We check what can be reasonably and lawfully checked, and we ask directly about the rest.

Where a member requires additional assurance, further verification can be arranged through appropriate professional firms, with the consent of everyone involved.

i

Identity

Who someone is, confirmed in person rather than assumed from a profile.

ii

Situation

Marital status, family circumstances, where and how they actually live.

iii

Intent

What they are genuinely looking for, and whether they are ready for it.

iv

Character

The assessment no document provides — formed by an advisor, over time, in person.

Reach

Where we work.

Our advisors work from London, New York, Geneva, Dubai and Singapore, and travel for mandates elsewhere. Many of our members hold more than one residence and expect a search that follows their life rather than their postcode.

Where the network meets

A few rooms, each season.

The house hosts a small number of dinners and salons a year — fourteen at a table, twenty at a private view. Members are invited by their advisor. Numbers are held low deliberately, and the room is not a search.

Attending is never a condition of anything, and declining is never noted.

  • Guest lists are never circulated, before or after.
  • No photography, by anyone, at any gathering.
  • Nobody is presented to anybody. Seating is arranged by the house, quietly.
  • A member may ask not to be seated near a particular person, without giving a reason.
  • What is said in the room is not repeated outside it.

Members see the season's gatherings in the portal and request a place there. Places are allocated by the house rather than in order of asking.

If the right person is not already known to us, that is not a disappointment. It is the beginning of the work.
