The House
An institution, not a startup.
Legend exists to conduct one kind of work extremely well, for a small number of people, over a long period of time.
Purpose
We were formed around a single observation.
The people who most need help meeting the right person are precisely those least able to look for one. Visibility, responsibility, travel and time make the ordinary routes either impractical or unwise.
Legend was established to serve them properly: with the confidentiality of a private office, the method of a search firm, and the human judgment that neither software nor social circles reliably provide.
We are deliberately small. We intend to remain so — because the moment this work is scaled, it stops being this work.
The people
Advisors, not agents.
Our advisors come from private client services, executive search, psychology and hospitality — disciplines built on reading people accurately and keeping what they learn to themselves.
We do not publish photographs or biographies of our team. Members meet the advisor who will handle their engagement, personally, before committing to anything.
Principal
Leads mandates, sets the standard of the house, and takes the difficult conversations personally.
Advisor
Your single point of contact. Conducts the consultation, the search, and every introduction.
Researcher
Conducts dedicated search and verification for mandates that reach beyond the network.
Counsel
Provides relationship advisory once introductions are made, where a member wishes it.
Standards
What we hold ourselves to.
- We accept only members we believe we can genuinely serve.
- We meet every person we would ever introduce.
- We give reasons for every recommendation we make.
- We tell members the truth about difficulty, timing and fit.
- We publish nothing about anyone, in any circumstance.
- We end an engagement, and say why, when it is not working.
Presence
Where to find us.
Our advisors work from London, New York, Geneva, Dubai and Singapore, and travel for mandates. Consultations are held in private settings, at our offices or wherever suits you — including at neither.
We do not maintain a public reception. Meetings are arranged individually.
We would rather be the right house for a few people than a familiar name to everyone.
